SANTA MONICA, Calif. — November 3, 2026.Brian Goldsmith is on the November 3 ballot for California Senate District 24, the coastal Los Angeles County seat being vacated by Ben Allen. He faces fellow Democrat John M. Erickson, a West Hollywood councilmember. The district includes Santa Monica and Malibu, making Goldsmith’s campaign promises directly relevant to residents across the Westside and coast.

What his campaign promises

On his campaign website, Goldsmith groups his agenda around affordability, public safety, better government services and efforts to counter discrimination. He calls for housing construction, small-business permitting changes, expanded access to health care and clean-energy infrastructure. On crime and homelessness, Goldsmith says he wants both accountable enforcement and support for established service organizations.

Goldsmith describes himself as a West Los Angeles native, former journalist, lawyer and entrepreneur who has also worked in political campaigns. These biographical statements come from his campaign’s own account.

A contest between two Democrats

Both candidates advanced from California’s nonpartisan primary, so the November ballot does not present a Republican alternative in this district. Erickson’s own campaign emphasizes local-government work, housing, renters and social services. Voters can compare the two candidates’ detailed positions on their respective websites.

Election Day verification

The campaign maintains its official website with policy and contact information. California58 has not established a verified November 3 photograph or video of Goldsmith personally submitting a ballot, nor his voting location or the time of his vote. A campaign message or social-media advertisement must not be described as an eyewitness account of his voting.
