SANTA MONICA, Los Angeles County — November 2026 general election. A later November election snapshot keeps Lana Negrete, Caroline Torosis and Ashley Oelsen in the top three positions for Santa Monica’s three open council seats.
What the reported returns show
NBC Los Angeles’s displayed results list 12,686 votes for Lana Negrete, 12,048 for Caroline Torosis and 10,991 for Ashley Oelsen. Doug Trussler follows with 9,480, a 1,511-selection gap behind Oelsen for third. Daniel Ivanov has 8,929 and Brett Morrow 8,919. Earlier Wednesday morning, the Santa Monica Daily Press had reported Negrete at 11,457, Torosis at 10,745 and Oelsen at 9,914.
How to interpret the result
Three council seats are available, so the important boundary is between the third- and fourth-place candidates. Each ballot may contain up to three choices; candidate totals are not unique voter turnout. The later figures are not a certified result.
Source cutoff and certification
This article uses figures displayed in the NBC Los Angeles 2026 election results tracker when checked after the November 3 vote, and where identified, a specifically dated local November 4 report. The NBC page’s publication date is not the timestamp of each individual vote update. These figures are unofficial, and this report does not claim an independently confirmed November 5 county bulletin. Los Angeles County continues counting accepted ballots before certification. Check the registrar for a newer official tally.
